With very few days left until our matric pupils start their preliminary examinations, one can only hope that not too much damage has been done by the public service strike.

We have, however, lost more than three weeks of teaching time. Let us hope that the interventions suggested by Education Minister Naledi Pandor to address this will be successful. There is no doubt that matrics will need extra assistance.

In the meantime, we can only appeal to our matrics to do their best and to wish them the best of luck in the exams. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
