The Live Earth South Africa concert will rock Johannesburg.

The Johannesburg concert is part of the 24-hour, seven-continent series aimed at combating global warming. So popular and so powerful is the message, that more than two billion people are expected to receive the message that will have telling consequences for the world.

The Johannesburg Live Earth Concert will be staged, very appropriately, at The Cradle of Humankind at Maropeng in Krugersdorp, just a stone's throw from Johannesburg.

The 24-hour Live Earth concert series begins in Sydney, Australia, on July 7 and continues across Tokyo in Japan, Shanghai in China, Johannesburg, London in the UK, Hamburg in Germany, Istanbul in Turkey, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and New York in the US.

Contributing to the South African must-see concert are internationally-acclaimed acts such as Angelique Kidjo, pictured, Baaba Maal, Danny K, Joss Stone, The Parlotones, The Soweto Gospel Choir, UB40, Vusi Mahlasela and Zola.

Tickets are already available at Computicket.
