banking boost

South African banking group Absa will increase the number of ATMs in under-serviced areas. Absa said the roll-out would result in the bank's ATM footprint being increased by about 1000 a year at a cost of R400million over the next two years. The group already has the largest footprint of more than 7000 ATMs in the country. The ATMs will be supplied by Bytes Specialised Solutions, a division of JSE-listed Bytes Technology Group. This move will bring banking services to within a 10km radius of every South African. - Staff Reporter
