The corporation manages eNatis on behalf of the Transport Department.

Chief executive Thabo Tsholetsane said the system was fully operational in all provinces, except in a few areas.

"There were network problems in Langlaagte, Johannesburg, on Tuesday and technicians attended to it. The centre is fully operation on Wednesday," he said.

According to traffic centre statistics, more than 33000 vehicles were registered on Tuesday, demonstrating how well the system was operating.

But there were media reports yesterday that people applying for learner's and driver's licence tests were unable to secure a booking in Gauteng and the Western Cape because eNatis was slow. - Sapa
