Nelson Mandela's special birthday present is a soccer game between Africa's greatest players and a star-studded team from the rest of the world.
This was announced by Tokyo Sexwale yesterday at a special session of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The WEF is being held in Cape Town this week with a special focus on Africa's economic growth and development.
The game will be played on the former president's 87th birthday on July 18. Sexwale did not reveal the venue for the game. He said the game was organised by former inmates of Robben Island, of whom he is one. - Waghied Misbach
