The new public protector says she will leave the dispute over the state capture report prepared by h.
Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi, pictured, has accused President Thabo Mbeki and his cabinet ministers of being removed from the struggles of poor South Africans, and called on government to move on its wage offer.
Speaking outside parliament yesterday, Vavi said the 7,25percent wage offer to public sector workers was an insult.
"I invite the president to walk in our cities, in rural areas and in our townships. He will know that workers have nothing to celebrate from the 500000 jobs the economy is creating because all those people are in the retail sector. That's where you see 'casualised' workers, low wages and no benefits for working on Sundays," Vavi said.
