The Crystal Fountain Spiritual Centre in Pimville, Soweto, is not only a place for physical healing but for spiritual wellbeing as well, says its members.

The centre began informally in 1995 as a prayer group among Five Fold Ministries Church members.

Dineo Bhengu, centre manager, said: "The group was started to pray for sick people. The group grew and we had to get another venue."

In 1999, the group moved to Hlalefang Primary School where it is now located.

Today, the centre has 80 residents and hosts people living with HIV-Aids and other diseases. Nomalanga Mdlankomo, manager of Khuthalani College, helps manage the centre.

Volunteers from the college also help the centre by teaching catering, fashion and small-scale farming. "We are appealing to the public to assist us so that we can continue with our good deeds," said Bhengu.
