Two men charged with the murder of an 11-year-old boy in a night drive-by shooting were refused bail in the Bronkhorstspruit magistrates' court on Tuesday.
Sergeant Merinda Stoltz said the men, aged 31 and 35, were not asked to plead and the case was postponed to June 13.
The two were accused of shooting Moloantoa Mokoena of Tembisa and injuring two other men in a separate incident on Saturday night.
Mokoena's uncle, Phillip Mokoena, said: "The bullet struck him in the throat."
The family said the shooting was unprovoked and believed it was racially motivated.
