Blue-headed tree agama has lots of bite

The southern tree agama, which lives above the ground, gives a painful bite if teased by humans. It is often seen on the trunks of trees, where the blue head of the breeding male is hard to miss. It sometimes moves onto the ground to eat ants and termites. Another lizard-like creature that lives above the ground is the house gecko, which lives under the bark of trees. It can sometimes be seen hunting insects on the walls and roofs of houses at night. The males enthusiastically defend their territories and chase away, or fight off, other males. - Lowveld & Kruger Guide, JacanaMaps
