Search for paraglider

A paraglider who went missing on the Eastern Cape coast last week has not yet been found, provincial authorities said yesterday.

A paraglider who went missing on the Eastern Cape coast last week has not yet been found, provincial authorities said yesterday.

Neil Calitz disappeared last Wednesday while flying along the coast in a motorised paraglider with his two brothers and two other men from Sundays River, near Port Elizabeth, to Cannon Rocks, near Port Alfred.

Paragliders searched for him on Thursday before they reported him missing.

Provincial disaster management spokesman Captain John Fobian yesterday said the current search for Calitz, which began on Saturday, and involved up to 250 police, relatives, friends, members of the public and volunteer rescue organisations and included the use of a variety of aircraft, was continuing. - Sapa
