Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi is a very humble man of God who does not call for praises to be sung for him.
You only know him if you have worked closely with him.
The struggle waged in South Africa for liberation has been very difficult and it continues to be economically difficult, even after the political liberation.
Prince Buthelezi foresaw all the problems that would be encountered in the struggle, so he did not move away from the principles of the authentic ANC which encompassed the values of family life and ubuntu.
To him the struggle had to be waged inside the country where the suffering masses were. At a London meeting in 1979, where he met with the leadership of the ANC, he stated he could not wage the armed struggle inside the country because people would die and the infrastructure would be destroyed. If he had agreed to wage war inside South Africa, the present leadership of the ANC would have returned to a scorched country in which almost all blacks would have perished. The apartheid regime was heavily armed and Buthelezi always warned the people of South Africa about this. He protected poor people.
Even in parliament, he is doing his best for the people of South Africa so that they can fight their worst enemies - poverty, ignorance, disease, hopelessness and confusion.
