Former Bafana Bafana goalkeepers' coach Roger De Sa is leaving Santos and going back to Bidvest Wits.

De Sa said yesterday that he had had talks with his former club's management and it was a foregone conclusion that he is leaving the People's Team for the Clever Boys.

"I have spoken to the Wits management and I will return to my former team," he said. "Although nothing has been finalised yet, I hope I will be starting with them when the season kicks off."

De Sa, who started his coaching career at Wits, said he was still in Cape Town but that he will be in Johannesburg today.

It is understood that De Sa will buy out the remainder of his contract at Santos, where he is still contracted for the next two years.

The former Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper revealed that he had informed Santos' management about the offer and his intention to go back to his roots.

De Sa, who was named Castle Premiership Coach of the Year at the end of the 2003/2004 season, left Wits for the Mother City after the "Students" were relegated to the National First Division.

During his first stint at Wits, the club operated on a shoestring budget, but it has since received a significant financial boost from the Bidvest group.

His successor at Wits was Boebie Solomons, who took the students to the elite league at the beginning of the season.

Solomons left Wits to for Black Leopards as head coach.

Meanwhile, it is understood that Muhsin Ertugral, who recently won the Absa Cup with Ajax Cape Town, is also set for a return to his former club, Kaizer Chiefs. Ertugral also led the Urban Warriors to the Telkom Knockout final.
