A 44-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of almost R2million worth of dagga on Sunday.

Captain Ursula Roelofse of the Drakensberg police yesterday said the man was arrested at a roadblock between Cala and Engcobo, Eastern Cape, at about 10.30am .

"They discovered about 1980kg valued at R1980000," she said.

Roelofse said the man was on his way to Port Elizabeth at the time of his arrest.

He was to appear in the Cala magistrates' court yesterday. - Sapa
