A woman who gave birth to triplets at the Thabatshwane Military Hospital in Pretoria yesterday has pleaded for help from the Limpopo Health and Social Development Department to raise the children.
Hlophi Mmola, 36, who is unemployed, lives with her husband and four other children in Phalaborwa.
She said the new arrivals would be a burden on her family.
Her husband, Eric, who had also been unemployed for more than a decade, recently got a job as a driver. The new job will pay him less than R3000 a month. Mmola has appealed to the provincial department and well wishers for help.
Spokesman Phuti Seloba said Mmola should apply for a child support grant.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Matlou of Sekgopo in the Mopani district, who also gave birth to triplets last month, received food parcels from the health department.
