The Grade 8 pupil at Secunda High School has been charged with attempted murder and his case has been postponed to next month to allow his victim, who is also aged 13, time to recover so he can give a statement to the police.

The incident occurred on Tuesday and the victim then underwent emergency heart surgery at the Pretoria Heart Hospital where his condition was yesterday described as much improved.

Following the incident, the suspect was immediately suspended from school pending the outcome of the hearing on Wednesday. - McKeed Kotlolo
