There is a time in a game of football where teams wish others to lose for their own benefits and struggling AmaZulu are one of such clubs.
Their future in the Castle Premiership depends on the equally battling Benoni Premier United whom AmaZulu wish should lose their two remaining matches for their own gain in terms of avoiding relegation.
The Rabbits, who have a game in hand, are perched 15th on the log on 27 points and Usuthu are 14th on 28 with one match remaining.
If United win their two matches they will finish in a safe position on 33 points, while AmaZulu will finish 15th on 31 if they manage to beat the tough Ajax Cape Town on the road.
United also face equally testing assignments against champions Mamelodi Sundowns at home and Lamontville Golden Arrows away.
The team that will finish 15th on the log will have to negotiate its way back to the elite league through the Mvela Golden League's Platinum playoffs, a four-team off-season competition.
AmaZulu's relegation woes were compounded by Black Leopards who pipped them 2-1 at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
"There is nothing we can do now apart from wishing United lose all their remaining matches," James Dlamini, AmaZulu's operations manager, told Sowetan yesterday.
"We will continue to fight hard against Ajax and the players have not been demoralised by the situation they have found themselves in."
The win has lifted Lidoda Duvha to 11th position on the log after fighting relegation for months.
Leopards' technical advisor Boebie "Mzala" Solomons has attributed their success to sheer commitment and collective efforts of the players.
"We have learnt to play as a unit and hence our success," said Solomons who once again called the shots from the bench on Saturday in the absence of German mentor Hans-Dieter Schmidt.
Leopards overcame a first-half goal deficit when Myron Shongwe and Walter Ramulondi struck in the second stanza.
AmaZulu had taken the lead through Denis Lota.
