The story headlined "Condom Outrage" in your April 26 edition refers. It is so pathetic to read about legislators being uncomfortable with the handling and distribution of condoms.
Surely, leaders should lead by example. It is through them that we will appreciate the usefulness of a condom (be it a male or female condom).
I challenge these legislators to check the records as to how many people die every day in South Africa because of HIV-Aids related diseases.
Legislators should air the message about the usefulness of condoms, and there was no need for Mdletshe to apologise. Being given a condom does not necessarily mean you are going to use it. You can give it to someone who cherishes its usefulness afterwards.
