Generally, many people are complaining about slow service delivery as rendered by public servants in North West.

Save to highlight community strikes that hit two-thirds of 21 local municipalities during 2005 and the recent ones this year, it must be a wake-up call (long overdue as it is) that public servants in North West must take serious decisions to be efficient and time-conscious as far as delivery is concerned.

Yes, they are trying, but at a slow pace as compared to Gauteng. Most of the service points (in municipalities and government buildings) in North West are infamous for taking people from one place to another - which is "fine" when relevant, but bad when public servants sit in offices without doing anything.

I recently went to Bojanala East (Mabopane, Temba, Ga-Rankuwa) and found its teachers to be delighted about being officially transferred to Gauteng from April 1 this year.

My message to office-bearers in North West is for them to be more efficient and effective. They must shift away from too many workshops that don't benefit ordinary people and start delivering in terms of implementation and not theory. People are tired of empty promises.
