Officials of the North West department of education and teachers will meet again today to try to end the teachers' strike in Khutsong .
The department's superintendent-general, Mathanzima Mweli, said the meeting will be held at Dagbreek Primary School, Carletonville, and "all the teachers in the area are expected to attend".
Mweli said the education department would act against the teachers and principals who took part in the illegal strike.
"The principle of 'no work, no pay' will apply. We will not be held to ransom by the teachers and principals," said Mweli.
"The department will not hesitate to take drastic action to bring sanity to these teachers."
Teachers and principals refused to attend a meeting called by education MEC Johannes Tselapedi a week ago.
