The showbiz scene is abuzz with the queen of soul India.Arie being in the country for two performances.

Tickets for the shows are in great demand and organisers are advising fans to buy their tickets early at Computicket as there will be no ticket sales at the gate for either concert.

India.Arie arrived on Monday and was met by hordes of photographers at OR Tambo International Airport, all of whom wanted to capture the moment of her arrival.

She will perform at Carnival City on Friday together with fellow American singer Oleta Adams.

The concert will start at 8pm.

This show precedes her scheduled performance at the Divas Concert on Sunday where she will share the stage with Adams as well as South African divas.

The Divas Concert at Supersport Park, Centurion, will start at noon.

Adams has achieved a crossover of genres from gospel to R&B and R&B jazz.

Most people will remember her rendition of Brenda Russells' Get Here and Elton John's Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me.

India.Arie is a Grammy winner who has pitched herself as someone who deals with big issues in her music, exploring relationships with honesty, depth and vulnerability.

Since her debut album Acoustic Soul in 2001, India.Arie has touched the hearts and minds of millions of people around the world.

Among the South African divas to look forward to at the concert on Sunday are Letta Mbuli, Sibongile Khumalo, Judith Sephuma and Rebecca Malope.
