International model Tinyiko Mathusa is receiving threats from an unidentified person.

Mathusa is currently embroiled in a controversy with YFM DJ and Afro Cafe presenter Pepsi Pokane and his partner, top designer, Machero, over the use of her picture in an advert.

Mathusa says she has been receiving threatening telephone calls since Sowetan published the story of the row last Tuesday.

"A man called me on Tuesday at 4.30pm and again at 6.30pm from a private number repeating the same message, saying: 'Are you going to stand up for what you have started?'

"I don't recognise the voice," Mathusa said.

Mathusa is consulting a lawyer today in connection with the row.
