Imagine comedian Loyiso Gola, Slikour of Skwatta Kamp and Clint Brink of Scandal sweating on the playground playing basketball. That's the kind of fun you don't want to miss.

The celebrities are part of the ESPN Channel O Celebrity Basketball Extravaganza, which takes place on May 5.

The event brings professional basketball players, local celebrities, sports stars and journalists together. This year's event will take place at the Galleria parking lot in Rosebank from 11am.

Other celebrities include Luthuli Dlamini of Scandal and Maimane Phiri of SuperSport United. Jawz and Zan-D will play the latest hip-hop and kwaito sounds. Sama nominees Morafe and Mo Molimi will provide live entertainment.

Competitors from Channel O's successful dance programme, Dance Africa, will entertain the crowds with their dance moves.

A basketball showdown between YFM and Channel O's celebrity basketball teams will be the day's main event. ESPN's professional team comprising Professional Basketball League players, will provide additional entertainment. Contests for the public will ensure there are lots of great prizes to be won.

Georginah Machiridza, brand manager for ESPN, says: "This is a wonderful event for ESPN to get involved in. We see this as a way to promote ESPN among people who might not have been aware of it. That is why we sponsor the ESPN Professional Team."

The extravaganza will culminate with a VIP after party at Club 676 in Wynberg, where ProKid, Morafe, Mandla Spikiri and Black Coffee will entertain.
