Maduo Mafubedu, 18, who died unexpectedly at the weekend, had great talent.
"Mendu", as she was affectionately known in the soccer circles, saw herself as a future star of Banyana Banyana.
The young achiever was female soccer player of the year as well as soccer player of the season last year. She played for the Girls Soccer under-19 squad and ran for South Gauteng-Cross Country under-17 girls and SA LSEN Athletics, where she attained silver medals in the 100m and 200m races.
Mafubedu always wore a warm smile and her caring and kind nature will always be remembered by her family at home and at Grace Bible Church and AFM Church in Noordgesig.
She will buried tomorrow at Lenasia Cemetery. The service will be held at Grace Bible Church in Pimville, Soweto.
