A Limpopo business tycoon is spitting fire over Eskom's continuous power failures.

Walter Ramoshaba of Namakgale, who runs a string of grocery shops in Tzaneen and Phalaborwa, woke up recently to find three office computers, two landline phones, two music systems, a laptop, a washing machine, two TV sets and two stoves burnt out after an electricity cut.

Ramoshaba wrote to Eskom claiming R15000 damages.

Eskom replied : "We regret to inform you that no negligence could be determined on Eskom's side and we have no alternative but to decline your claim."

Ramoshaba this week confronted Eskom chief executive Thulane Gcabashe on his imbizo with Public Enterprise Minister Alec Erwin where angry residents accused Eskom of being unreliable and dangerous.

Gcabashe said: "I will send a team to investigate ."

l Noko Letsoalo of Namakgale lost his house last month in a fire allegedly caused by a poor electrical connections by Eskom officials, but his attempt to claim his loss was also rejected.
