In an era of increasing globalisation, nations can no longer afford to deal with health issues on an internal basis in isolation from the rest of the world.

In an era of increasing globalisation, nations can no longer afford to deal with health issues on an internal basis in isolation from the rest of the world.

It is crucial that the World Health Organisation (WHO) becomes a truly universal body, encompassing all the people of the world regardless of their political situation. Disease knows no boundaries and the gap presented by Taiwan's exclusion from the international health network must be closed.

Taiwan has the legitimate right to be granted full membership of the WHO for this reason alone.
