If we use the number of reality shows on M-Net as a yardstick, then it must be right to conclude that these "draw-card" shows are definitely in vogue on the pay channel.

Right now viewers are watching both West African and American Idols. Survivor, as well as Big Brother, have yet to be screened.

Big Brother Africa 2 will hit the small screen on August 5, while Survivor: South Africa Malaysia will air on August 15. The high notes of Idols 4 follows on August 16.

In the past M-Net rotated these three reality shows, but this time it is making television history by bringing all three shows to viewers in the same year. Even more exciting is the news that all three reality shows start on television in the same month. Out in full force to produce its own version of the world's top three reality TV blockbusters, M-Net is set on bringing another season of Survivor, Idols and Big Brother into its subscribers' living rooms.

Carl Fischer, head of M-Net's Original Productions, says this bold move clearly illustrates that M-Net still believes in the power of unscripted entertainment.

"All three of these shows have been major successes and we're bringing them back by popular demand.

"We are sure they will again provide headline-making news, controversy and a huge fan base," he says.
