Kaizer Chiefs might not be doing well in the Castle Premiership, but their supporters could find solace in the PSL reserve side who are currently riding the crest of the wave.

Amakhosi shot to the top of the log after beating Benoni Premier United 2-0 at Eldorado Park Stadium on Monday.

On the other hand, their traditional rivals Orlando Pirates were held to a 2-2 draw by Bidvest Wits at Milpark Stadium.

Chiefs have now gathered 19 points from eight games while second-placed Bucs have 17 points from the same number of games.

Both sides have been sharing the same points for the entire first round with Pirates always in the front seat.

The Naturena side have a pedigree of winning new competitions and it won't be a surprise if the reserve side lifts the league crown at the end of the season.

Supporters will be happy if the Premiership side could take a leaf from their reserves in order to improve their seventh position on the log in their remaining matches.

At Chloorkop ground, Moroka Swallows narrowly beat Mamelodi Sundowns 4-3 in a thrilling encounter.

The game, which initially was set for Caledonian Stadium, was moved to the Brazilians' ground because that stadium was used by neighbours SuperSport United who played Jomo Cosmos at the same time.

Jomo Cosmos maintained their third spot despite playing to a 2-all draw gainst SuperSport United at Caledonian Stadium. All goals were scored in the second half.
