The 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee yesterday announced that the Business Opportunities Workshop scheduled for June 19 and 29 is open to all.

It will be held at Emperors' Palace in Kempton Park.

"We invite people who want to benefit from the 2010 World Cup to attend," said Tim Modise, the LOC communications and marketing director.

Sowetan was inundated with enquiries from readers who wanted to know the attendance requirements after a story about the workshop last Wednesday.

"There are no restrictions, anybody who is interested in the different business opportunities offered by the World Cup should attend," Modise said.

"That includes the field of tourism, transport, accommodation, event management, entertainment and many others.

"It will be addressed by expects in various fields, we have organised the workshop so that our people know the opportunities offered by the tournament

"There are many business opportunities around the World Cup, we will announce more information in the next few days," said Modise.

The LOC has warned South Africans not to invest money into businesses for the World Cup before seeking advice from experts in those fields. The LOC, who operates from Safa House in Nasrec, can be called on (011) 567-2010.
