Maskandi musician Mfiliseni Magubane added song and dance to the high-profile wedding of IFP national chairman Zanele Magwaza and Mandla Msibi, director of communication at the KwaZulu-Natal department of education.
Magubane amazed with a high-voltage performance at this colourful wedding - probably the biggest in the province in a long time.
Guests included government officials, amakhosi and politicians such as ANC heavyweight Sam Mthethwa, and IFP president Mangosuthu Buthelezi and his wife Irene, who is known as MaMzila.
Magwaza and Msibi have had a long-standing relationship, but few knew that the wedding bells would finally ring.
Sowetan uncovered this in January during negotiations for ilobolo.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Newcastle Farmers' Hall after a church service at St Peters and Paul Church.
Giving advice to the couple, Buthelezi said Magwaza had given her all as a public servant and IFP member.
"As a father to Zanele, I am happy that she has a man of Mandla's calibre in her life.
"I have known her since she was a child," he said.
Buthelezi told Magwaza she now had a companion for life.
Magwaza has two children and the groom has eight children from previous relationships.
The final ceremony was at Msibi parents' home in Osizweni Township.
The couple received blessings from the local elders.
