One of the country's most respected hip-hop exponents, who is well known for mixing poetry with cutting-edge rap lines, will hit Jozi on April 21.

Cape Town-based Max Normal.TV, pictured, will perform at Rocka in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.

Supported by the French Institute of South Africa and the Alliance Francaise, the performance is expected to attract many of the artist's fans who have not heard him perform in Gauteng for some time now.

Working with a sophisticated team of artists, including a video jockey, Max Normal. TV is set to produce an exciting show featuring high-energy hip-hop sounds. His fans will also still get a chance to hear tracks from his album The Fantastic Kill.

The artist will share the stage with Tumi and DJ Dino de Ville.

Tumi, the lead vocalist of Tumi and the Volume, a hip-hop band that blends samba, swing, hip-hop, reggae and poetry, has insightful lyrics that examine the complex identity struggles facing young people in post- apartheid South Africa.

The band has received three Sama nominations and Tumi recently released a solo album titled Music From My Good Eye .

DJ Dino de Ville, the resident DJ at Rocka, who has been in the business for seven years, has a unique mixing style and his repertoire includes soul, R&B, funky house, hip-hop and old school.

Besides his music, Max Normal.TV has also been involved in other artistic projects.

The artist writes stories and has written, directed and produced short films as well as his music videos.

Max Normal.TV creates hand-made toy sculptures and he has held two exhibitions of his art works.
