The chairman of Sassu softball, Frans Maubane, says he is delighted with the selection of two Sassu players to the men's senior national team that will play in the Zone Six championships in Zambia next month.

Tshwane University of Technology's Ofentse Noko was selected along with Tidima Kekana of the University of Limpopo at the national provincial championships held in Limpopo recently.

"I am happy to see that our players are being recognised as potential national players. I am positive the two will add value to coach Tommy Kgomo's team. As an outfield player, Ofentse is a big hitter and capable of winning matches. Tidima is also a sure batter and a tricky pitcher," Maubane said.

Kekana, who has represented the country at the Under-19 level, said his selection came as a shock, but he was nonetheless excited that other people acknowledged his hard work.

"I can see that there is some improvement in my game. I have only been a Sassu player since last year," Kekana said.
