Mabasa compared the sentences of the Mpumalanga nurse who infected her stepson with HIV-Aids blood and the young man who held a home affairs official hostage.

I feel terrible because half of Gauteng thought I was the culprit because we have the same name. I am an Aids activist living with the virus for the past 16 years and an auxiliary nurse. People thought I did the terrible thing and pointed fingers at me. But I live in Gauteng. She should have received a longer sentence.
