The kids at Nomthandazo Children's Care Centre enjoyed their yearly Easter party at Bokkie Park, Ekhuruleni, thanks to the big hearts of all the caregivers and generous sponsors.

The children from the centre in Zenzele informal settlement in Daveyton, near Benoni, had a truly fabulous time this Easter weekend.

All the credit should go to Oliver House, volunteers from the St Bennedict's College in Johannesburg, KFC and Spur, which provided lunch packs, and Woodmead Stationers, which paid for the joy rides and the boat rides.

Lerato Mokgope, public liaison officer at Oliver's House said: "The day was a great success and the children had a lot of fun."

The founder of Oliver's House, David Sellar, said: "It's really important for us to be involved in this project because, if not, no one else will. And what will happen to the children?"

Oliver's House adopted the centre. It helps to pay the staff and provide funds and other essentials wherever the need arises.

Sellar said: "The children's centre is in no position to raise funds so we help to run the place."

Nomthandazo Children's Centre accommodates about 120 children younger than six.

Sellar said: "Oliver's House is happy to be involved in helping Nomthandazo Children's Care Centre.

"Everybody at Oliver's House is delighted that the yearly Easter event for the Nomthandazo children was a success and that the little ones had a good time," Sellar said.
