Aim at solutions

Government steps to revolutionise the taxi industry have interestingly isolated taxi violence as a rogue and unwelcome dimension of the sector.

Government steps to revolutionise the taxi industry have interestingly isolated taxi violence as a rogue and unwelcome dimension of the sector.

We are therefore perturbed that taxi-related killings still continue in this day and age. A case in point is last Friday's murder of Faraday Taxi Association boss Malakiya Nedzamba. This attack should be condemned in the strongest terms.

Taxi resolution committees have been set up throughout the industry.

Still the anger expressed by members of Nedzamba's association is understandable. But we call on them to exercise restraint especially after they had promised to help the police in their investigation.

Avenging Nedzamba's killing will not help resolve the matter. Instead it will lead to more violence. The police must nip this violence in the bud.
