Three men accused of killing a man and assaulting eight others at a social gathering in Nkandla in northern KwaZulu-Natal over the Easter weekend will appear in court today.
The suspects are accused of killing Dumisani Mpungose at his home in the Mandaba area in Nkandla on Friday.
Mpungose, 18, and his family and friends were relaxing when the suspects allegedly attacked them with sticks.
Mpungose died on the scene. Eight people, including a woman, sustained serious head injuries.
Police spokesman Jay Naicker said the suspects were arrested on Sunday with help from community members.
In another incident, a 32- year-old man was stabbed to death at a party near his home in the Maghwakazi area of Eshowe.
Thulani Dlomo is said to have had an argument with another man at the party, who stabbed him six times. Dlomo died at the scene. Police are investigating a case of murder.
