A collier at a pit near Dundee, KwaZulu-Natal, died yesterday when a roof support apparently collapsed and struck him.
Norman Slater, head of Slater Coal, which operates the Magdalena Colliery, confirmed the incident, but declined to comment because an investigation into the accident was under way. A survey of the damage would also be done and an inquiry completed.
