Funky, cute and practical describe Peugeot's 107 well.

Do not expect miracles from the little Peugeot, but it will take you from A to B with ease.

The little red 107 we tested did exactly that.

It is a city car and it excelled in that regard. At high speeds, the little Peugeot did not do too badly, unlike its big sister, the 1007, which carries a nightmare of a gearbox and a worse torque. Except for its innovative design, the 1007 was a disappointment.

Back to the 107. It really caught me by surprise. It is not a F1 car, but it carries out its duties fairly well.

First-time car buyers will have something to brag about while at the same time saving a packet on fuel.

The little car produces 50kW of power at 6000rpm, and torque stands at 93Nm at 3600rpm.

It is well equipped in the comfort and convenience departments with electric assisted steering, radio-CD player and air-conditioning.

Safety features such as ABS with EBD and cornering stability control are also fitted in the 107. It also comes with driver and passenger airbags.

The 107 is for people who are not in a hurry to get to their destination.

For R89900, the 107 would certainly be my starter pack. The top of the range, the one with all the things that makes the little package a dynamite, costs R105900.
