Hauling an employee before a disciplinary hearing simply because she exposed her boss to the media is a violation of a person's right of expression.
It is deeply disturbing when such action is taken by an institution which ought to know better concerning freedom of speech.
The Ehlanzeni College for Further Education and Training in Nelspruit which was recently ordered by the CCMA to reinstate Hlobisile Maziya, a clerk who was unfairly dismissed, has now decided to discipline her for talking to the media.
This is is contemptible.
Maziya had a constitutional right to talk to the media about the alleged sexual advances of her boss.
Hauling her before a disciplinary hearing after the CCMA ruling is sour grapes.
