Our history can help Zimbabwe

If one looks at the situation in Zimbabwe - the brutality and torture of members of the opposition party are going through - it resembles South Africa during the apartheid era. That was a time when the police and army killed and tortured freedom fighters.

The internal and international pressure eventually led to the emancipation of South Africa. Why can the same not be done in Zimbabwe? Political leaders need to take a critical stance against President Robert Mugabe's government to change the situation in Zimbabwe.

This will lead to political and economic stability. It will also reduce the influx of illegal immigrants into South Africa.

The affect of this will be reduced crime in South Africa, and a reduction in the issuing of fraudulent IDs.

Such an environment will attract foreign investments and result in a better life for all.
