Desperate times have called for desperate measures for social butterfly Iko Mash.

Mash, who has been threatening to drop an album since the death of his friend Lebo Mathosa, is now adding the launch of a cosmetics range to his list of glamour goals.

"The make-up range is going to be called 'I am' for the ultra-feminine woman who is a no 'make-do-woman'," said the ambitious cross-dresser.

But his album was still just as important, he said.

"It even has the potential of being released internationally," he said.

It was imperative, he said, that he brought the element of passion into his musical venture because "make-up and music are like cheese and wine" and both projects were close to his heart.

"I'm passionate about both my projects, they are my babies and people will see the hard work that went into bringing them to life," he said.

Mash, who boats an array of celebrity clients said his album, which is said to be a bit jazzy, pop and kasi, would be launched later this month.

Several songs from the album would be instant hits, not least because "I have worked with such great and talented people", he said.

Mash said his make-up range was a definite must-have for all "those confident and beautiful women who want a little something more".
