Limpopo Eagles Golf Social Club development drive and women's programme go into full swing this year after the appointment of the hard working Anna Mashego to deal exclusively with the two projects.

Mashego began her programme with two training sessions in Polokwane last weekend.

Pat "Fingers" Moyaha, spokesman for the club, said Mashego will visit different areas as part of her programme.

"We discussed development as a club and we all agreed that we should have somebody to deal specifically with these programmes," Moyaha said.

The suave former softball administrator also revealed that they had cut their league matches from 12 to six this term.

He said this will afford them ample time to monitor development and the women's league.

"We are encouraging all our clubs to be consistent in terms of bringing their ladies and youngsters to our matches to build their confidence in the game," he said.

"We are also going to rope in ex-professional players to assist us. The Giyani Golf Club used to have active young golfers while it still existed and we have identified those youngsters to help us in the Mopani district," he said.

Meanwhile, top Bakone Golf Social Club player Malebana Pataki said he will impart the knowledge he gained from Australia to his teammates and youngsters at the Polokwane-based club.

Pataki has just returned from Australia where he represented the country in golf at the World Police and Fire Games.

"It was a great experience to be part of that competition and me and my partner Vanon Naidoo won a bronze medal among 35 teams that competed in the scratch division," said Pataki.
