Mathibela Curlingworth Seipobi, a photo-journalist turned farmer, died after a short illness. He was 75.
Seipobi joined The World newspaper after matriculating from Orlando High School in Soweto in the 1950s. He also had a stint on Bona magazine as a photo-journalist.
Seipobi's passion for photography - he was rarely without his Leica camera - led him to open the first photographic studio in Orlando East. He was a fruit and vegetable farmer in the Ladybrand district when he died at his son's home in Midrand on Sunday.
He will be buried at the Midrand Cemetery tomorrow after a service starting at 9am at 320Belvedere Street, Glen Austen, Midrand.
