Oos Rand Secondary School in Boksburg became the new champions of the yearly Ekurhuleni Rugby School Challenge.
They attained this feat after beating Geluksdal High School 6-0 in a lacklustre final at the Reiger Park sports complex on Wednesday.
Both teams did not live up to expectations and lacked aggression and ideas. In the semifinals Oos Rand disposed of Phulong 8-0 while Geluksdal defeated Tlakula 3-0.
Oos Rand received a trophy and gold medals and the runners-up got a trophy and silver medals.
Third-placed Springs Secondary collected bronze medals.
