Blame the West, not Mbeki

Western governments, Britain and the US in particular, should stop their unjustified criticism of President Thabo Mbeki for the political crisis that they created in Zimbabwe.

Western governments, Britain and the US in particular, should stop their unjustified criticism of President Thabo Mbeki for the political crisis that they created in Zimbabwe.

They created a monster that they are failing to deal with and now they are looking for scapegoats.

Mbeki and the African Union are now being accused of failing to take action against the Zimbabwean dictator.

What do they really want Mbeki and his government to do about Zimbabwe?

Do they want Mbeki to remove Mugabe who was elected to be president?

Mugabe is not in power in Zimbabwe because he staged a coup.

He was helped get into power in a controversial election in 1980. The same leaders that are now describing him as a monster turned a blind eye when Mugabe sent the Five Brigade to slaughter more than 20000 Ndebeles in the early 1980s.

No sanctions were imposed though there was a massacre in Matabeleland.

It was the white farmers who made Zimbabwe the bread basket of Southern Africa. The farmers also made a blunder by openly supporting the MDC.

You do not do such a thing to Mugabe and expect to get out of it without a scratch. The crisis in Zimbabwe is a creation of the West, not of Mbeki.
