SABC sports presenter Carol Manana is back on the screen after giving birth to a bouncing baby boy.

Carol made her comeback at the weekend. The fast-talking Carol gave birth last month at a private hospital in Johannesburg.

Neither Carol nor her husband would divulge the name of the hospital.

The couple also refused to make their son's picture available to the media "because the baby was too young to have his picture used in the newspapers".

Though the two separated in December last year, Carol named the baby after his father, Solomon Manana Jr.

The couple divorced in 2005 after Carol accused her husband of having an extra-marital affair.

The couple later reunited, but separated again.

Their separation came after Manana alleged that Carol's family was putting pressure on him to remarry her.

Carol yesterday refused to comment on the matter.

But her estranged husband could not conceal his excitement at being a father again. The couple's other son is six-year-old Joel.

"I am happy to be a father again," said an ecstatic Manana.

"I will do my utmost to make my son happy. He is an apple of my eye despite what has happened between me and his mother," he said.

Asked whether there was a chance they could reconcile now that the little one has arrived, Manana said he was not sure.

"At the moment Carol is still at her parent's place in Vanderbijlpark," he said.

"But what I know is that I still love her."

Manana said he preferred not to talk about the issue.
