Multi-millionaire and husband of TV actress Khanyisile Mbau, Mandla Mthembu, says he has never been happier with his finances.
In fact, he claims he is so financially stable that he is thinking of making a few additions to his already impressive fleet of fancy cars.
This comes after Mthembu was accused by a Sunday paper as being broke or "just being plain silly".
Mthembu denied this and said it was just an attempt by the reporter and his former wife, Dolly Matshabe, to tarnish his image. The report claimed that Mthembu was so broke that he was unable to buy a textbook for his 16-year-old daughter Nelisiwe.
Nelisiwe stays with her mother in the suburban house that Mthembu bought for his family.
"I made an arrangement with my ex-wife to buy the book before I left for the US and she agreed. I am surprised now to hear that I could not afford to buy the book and that I gave her R10000 instead of R18000 because I did not have enough money," said Mthembu.
Mthembu said he gives his former wife an amount of R18000 every month and that he had bought her the house where she now lives and the car she drives.
He described his former wife as being vindictive towards his newly found marital bliss with Khanyi.
"I know it's her who's been taking this to the papers," Mthembu said.
He said that he could not marry Khanyi earlier because her pregnancy clashed with the wedding date.
"I don't think there is a reason for us to rush things and we are not going to be dictated to by the media on how to run our lives," he said.
When asked what Khanyi had to say about this, Mthembu said: "Well, Khanyi has seen it all and though this is not a good situation we know that there are people who do not wish us the best."
Mthembu said that a court date had been set for him and his former wife to get her assets forfeited.
