Save children from maniacs

Enough is enough. I wish to express my intense anger and frustration to the growing chorus and disgust at the recent spike in the abduction, rape and murder of defenceless children.

Enough is enough. I wish to express my intense anger and frustration to the growing chorus and disgust at the recent spike in the abduction, rape and murder of defenceless children.

The brutal and violent nature of the attacks is a source of great worry.

Is some kind of a mental illness sweeping through our country or is it just the barbaric actions of some maniacs who are hellbent on destroying the lives of other people?

Just take a moment to visualise the terrified look on the face of a traumatised and sobbing child in the face of a vicious emotional, physical or sexual attack by a ruthless adult. It is enough to make you want to take immediate action and contribute meaningfully to the general wellbeing of every child, regardless of race, colour or gender.

It is time that this unrelenting attack against our children is nipped in the bud or more precious lives will be lost.

While parents and guardians are naturally expected to take good care of their children at all times, communities should also play a vigilant role in providing a protective shield against child abuse.

Communities must work closely with the police and, if possible, report any suspicious behaviour or actions.

One child's death is one too many.
