It's show time tonight at the Benoni Civic Centre for five crownless champions of Boxing South Africa's 2006 Baby Champs programme.

Tshepang Mohale, Bongani Mwelase, Luyanda Jako, Marcel Japhta and Khapati Mpambanyeni will dust off the cobwebs.

They have not donned a boxing glove since January 19 when they won the Baby Champs titles in Carletonville. Three of the five, Mohale, Mwelase and Jako, will be involved in career-defining fights as they challenge for vacant Gauteng provincial titles.

These fights will contested over 10 rounds, while these rising stars are used to four rounders.

Mohale and Rennier Dorfling will fight for the Gauteng light heavyweight belt, while Mwelase will face George Mpalakane for the welterweight belt.

Jako will take on Nicholas Modibeng in a rematch for the lightweight belt. Jako outpointed Modibeng for the Baby Champs belt. The other two champions, Japhta and Mpambanyeni, will flex their muscles in non-title fights over six rounds.

Japhta will exchange leather with Mike Ncube in the featherweight class while Mpambanyeni will fight Dumisani Buhlalu in the middleweight division.

Muvhuso Nedzanani will bid for the seventh defence of his SA junior flyweight title against Thozamile Myali in the main fight.
