Fans attending the literary festival Time of the Writer from March 19 will be able to delve into all matters literary at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
The programme boasts top writers from Africa and overseas. However, special focus will be on writer Ngugi wa Thiongo. He raised eyebrows decades ago when he transformed himself from a fine English writer to an exemplary writer in his native Kikuyu. He will present a talk on Human Rights Day, March 21, at 7.30pm
Others making presentations on March 21 include Miriam Tlali withStories from Soweto, and a special reading by John Matshikiza on assassinated Russian writer, Anna Politkovskaya's reports on Chechnya.
