This is the beginning of the end of Fernandez's career and I bet my last cent that, come the 2010 World Cup, he will not be in Bafana Bafana's colours.
How many players left Chiefs at their peak and later retired because they lacked form as a result of not playing at all.
If I was Fernandez's manager I would have advised him not to go to a local side, but to wait for an offer abroad. He is destroying his future.
Just ask the likes of Thabang Lebese, Pollen Ndlanya, Frank Makua to name a few. It's never too late to reconsider.
